Backwards?

This week our daughter Alli leaves for her freshman year of college and while we have been preparing emotionally to moving one step closer to an empty nest, Alli has had quite the summer. Besides the usual having out with friends and going to movies, Alli has taken an interest in all things outdoors. Absence makes the heart grow fonderOver the next few weeks I am going to look at some famous idioms and the first, “absence makes the heart grow fonder” is a strange concept to me.
